Marketplace Minister – Senior Full Stack Developer

Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 depending on experience.

Location: London

If you are a Christian with excellent technical skills and experience in digital product delivery, this is an exciting opportunity to work for an organisation embarking on their next stage of delivery growth. You will be one of the first roles hired into an in-house tech team, contributing to its growth and development as it expands.

You’ll work in a team of Christians who see their work as a full-time ministry opportunity to serve God first, and to love and serve one another and their multinational clients. In your role as a marketplace minister, you’ll participate in Biblical training and receive support as you apply these principles in your everyday work as a Full Stack Developer, using your skills and talents to God’s glory.

N.B. Worship.Works is an organisation that places Christian professionals into roles that draw on their talents, while serving God first. This role is with a client of Worship.Works.

To succeed in this role:

You will have a track record of success in technical development roles, being comfortable in multidisciplinary teams, working closely with design, product and research colleagues to deliver high-quality, user-centric products.

Experience playing a leading role in the development of products that achieve goals of an organisation by meeting the needs of customers is essential.

It is important to bring a product mindset, understanding the needs of users and how technical solutions can be best implemented to meet those needs and achieve key business outcomes.

The existing services within the company are built on Ruby on Rails, with MongoDB, MariaDB, ElasticSearch and Redis. Going forward we are considering building out a new mobile product built with Flutter.

While it is not essential that you have experience in Rails or Flutter, an energy and enthusiasm for learning new languages and ways of working is essential so that you can pick up these skills as this role will be primarily responsible for the existing services. Experience with test driven development and devops would also be advantageous.

You will ideally bring expertise in user-centric, iterative product development, operating within an agile environment, delivering software solutions that are secure, compliant and delivered in the most ethical approach.

You will report to the Head of Technology and alongside a UX Researcher initially. As this is one of the first roles hired into this team, an ability to work independently is required. In the coming year we are planning to grow the team, so you’ll also bring a desire to mentor, teach, and train junior members of the team.
