The Opportunity

This is an incredible opportunity for a follower of Christ who is an experienced marketing and sales professional and wants to put that experience to work for Him in an excellent career.

Our client is a consultancy with clients among the world’s largest healthcare companies. The business operates as a Christian ministry vehicle and the role is part of a faith-based programme where you will be placed into a demanding professional role serving multinational corporations. You will receive training on serving God through your work, alongside like-minded believers on the front lines of Christian ministry.

Key Objectives

  • Develop and implement a marketing and sales strategy aligned with the company’s goals to achieve target sales of £5M+ per annum.
  • Build and lead a team of Marketing and Account professionals to accomplish the marketing and sales objectives. Identify skills needs and implement training programmes to ensure your team has state of the art skills.
  • Manage a marketing budget of £600K+ to include all marketing spend including your team. Plan and manage how your budget will be spent on people, external experts, media and all other marketing activities.

You will oversee the following key areas:

Marketing

Develop a deep understanding of our client personas and behaviours, in order to serve them effectively through our marketing. Your department will work closely with other client-facing roles to learn about emerging client needs and continually evaluate our value proposition as the market changes.

The Company’s current marketing, sales and communications channels include digital articles, webinars, video and audio content, digital advertising, social media, industry conferences, web, search, print and PR. As well as developing materials and media in-house, the Company works with several specialist agencies. You will develop and manage the marketing budget, making informed decisions about investment across all channels and continually evaluating the effectiveness of marketing investment.

You will bring a wealth of experience in targeting and engaging specific high value accounts with highly relevant content and messaging. You will be passionate about understanding clients’ buying behaviours and their journey with the Company, so that marketing activity provides them with exceptional service throughout their journey.

The Company operates a “Sales-as-Ministry” model in which the whole team plays an active role in contributing to marketing and sales activities.

Sales

The Company’s sales strategy needs to serve prospective customers who have initially engaged with marketing activities, using state of the art intelligence gained from their behaviours, in order to provide them with the most useful tools and resources at the right time.

You will be capable of using technology to accurately recognise customer buying behaviours, develop intelligence on individual prospects and serve them well with timely sales experiences. You know how to identify the perfect time to offer a discovery meeting, without wasting their or your team’s time by meeting too soon or too late.

You will consider how to build the ideal team to support sales, drawing on resources from across the whole Company through the “Sales-as-Ministry” model, as well as defining dedicated sales roles in your own team.

Your own team needs to include client-facing roles who will act as “Account Managers”, guiding prospective clients to understand how the Company could help them, coaching the client through their buying journey and focusing on developing long-term, delighted clients who return again and again and become advocates for the Company.

Communications

You will be responsible for the Company’s corporate communications to enhance its position in the market, developing its reputation for innovation and excellence.

Your work in corporate communications should implicitly reflect the Company’s personality, core values and impact, and should include championing its employer proposition, playing a part in engaging current, future and past employees as advocates.

Team Leadership

The Company is currently reviewing the structure of its Marketing & Sales team, and you will help to develop this structure for the growth of the business.

You will need to measure and communicate the effectiveness of your department, with teamwide measures as well as individual performance measures, and you will use data and observed behaviours to help your team members to continually improve outcomes.
