What is a Work-Based Minister?

It begins with asking the question: ‘If all of life is about following Jesus, what could that look like in the workplace?’

At Worship.Works we believe that every Christian can serve God through whatever work they do in any sector or field. Serving God as a minister is not reserved only for those employed by a local church, but for all believers. With the talents, gifts, interests and skills that God has given you, you can go into the workplace as His representative (a work-based minister) to serve your colleagues, clients or customers; to work with excellence in everything you do; to seek His Spirit’s wisdom and insight to guide you in every aspect of your job role; and to bring God’s Kingdom with you into your workplace.

How will I grow as a Work-Based Minister?

We all come from different Christian backgrounds and have a unique and personal journey of faith. At Worship.Works we want to welcome you where you’re at on that journey and come alongside you as you take the next steps in following Jesus in the area of work and career.

The Graduate Programme will help you grow and develop as a work-based minister through:

  • Teaching Biblical principles that specifically relate to the work you do and the workplace you are in.
  • Mentors that help you apply these principles in your work context and support your spiritual and professional growth.
  • Daily prayer sessions with the team to seek God together.
  • Opportunities to be part of Bible studies and book clubs with the wider team.

What work will I be doing?

Our 2026 graduates will be placed in a partner organisation that serves the world’s largest companies in regulated sectors. The Graduate Programme this year will offer two specialist tracks – Track 1: Digital Intelligence & Insight and Track 2: Technology.

During the 12 month programme you will develop highly valuable and transferable skills, relevant to the track you choose. You’ll be trained and mentored in a real-world professional context, using the latest technologies and techniques.

You will also gain experience from being part of a growing business and have plenty of opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across different kinds of business roles.

What career prospects will the programme give me?

After the successful completion of the 12 month programme, many of our graduates are offered permanent positions within the organisation where they are placed and go on to long-term careers, thriving and growing in skills as they increase in responsibility and seniority.

Former graduates have also moved on to roles with aspirational employers including Deloitte, Wellcome Trust, and Sainsbury’s HQ, where they have been able to put all they learned from the programme to great use as they continue to build their careers.

Two Different Tracks
