Role: Permanent, Full-time (including some weekend work when required)
Making A Difference to Maidstone (MADM) is looking for an Outreach Officer to join their team.
The Job of the Charity Outreach Officer is:
- Provide one-to-one support to clients with compassion and a non-judgemental listening ear.
- Providing signposting where relevant and appropriate to the client.
- Developing a good understanding of local resources and support available to clients.
- Engage with, and build partnerships with, agencies, charities, and organisations, advocating to ensure that clients’ needs are being met and individuals can progress.
- Provide general office support/cover where necessary to ensure the smooth running of the operations.
- Support the overall strategy of the Outreach Centre
Candidate requirements:
- Passionate about helping clients experiencing food poverty or crisis.
- Sharing the heart and vision of the charity and be sympathetic to the Christian beliefs of the organisation.
- The ability to show empathy.
- The ability to work with difficult situations that can sometimes be tense due to the level of crisis.
- Experience and knowledge of giving impartial support.
- Problem-solving abilities and being able to think on your feet.
- Experience of office systems, procedures, and electronic filing systems.
- Well organised
- Self-motivated and highly adaptable.
- Willingness to follow policies and procedures.
- Experience of working with volunteers.
- Demonstrate people management skills.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Communicates with others in a clear and structured fashion (written and verbal).
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion and a good understanding of data security.
- Computer literate with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- This will be a full-time role 9am-5.30pm requiring weekend working when required for PR purposes.

Training

- Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Salary
£25,000-£28,000 depending on experience
