A Theology of Work

Be equipped to change your world through your work

Work.

A word that conjures up a myriad of reactions in people and an area of life that can feel disconnected from our faith in Jesus. But what if there is more to discover about our work as a spiritual practice with significant eternal impact?

The Word of God has much to teach us about God’s intended design and purpose for work – a good thing that He gave us the privilege to partake in as His image bearers. We learn from the Scriptures that our work is firstly an act of worship unto the LORD.

Unfortunately, like all good things, work became distorted as a result of humanity’s rebellion against the Creator, and that’s the context in which we engage with our day-to-day work.

We invite you to join a community of believers who are eager to reclaim the true nature of work and discover how their work fits in God’s plans. We’re going back to the Source of wisdom to seek an understanding of work that aligns with His original intent and to allow that truth to transform our thinking and our approach.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2 [NLT]

Engaging with work from a Biblical paradigm is a game-changer! We discover that Christ has redeemed work, He empowers us to show up at work as ‘salt & light’ and partners with us in our work to bring transformation to the people, places and systems that we engage with. Work becomes a means of Kingdom transformation!

Imagine the impact of the church in our world if every believer was intentional about being salt & light in their work context, demonstrating the reality of the Kingdom of God to people who will likely never step through the doors of our church buildings on a Sunday.
